Terms of Service
Last updated: October 15, 2026.
The service
RestoreProof provides the features described on the features page, subject to the limits of your plan. We may update features over time; material removals come with notice.
Your responsibilities
- Use the service lawfully and only for purposes it was designed for.
- Keep your API keys and credentials confidential; you're responsible for activity under your account.
- Don't abuse the service: no reverse-engineering to circumvent limits, no reselling access without permission.
Honest limits (part of these terms)
- The simulated driver verifies manifest-based artifacts; real pg_restore/mysql restores are a per-customer setup step (the scaffold raises an honest error until configured).
- RestoreProof verifies backups; it does not take them — bring your pg_dump, WAL archives, or snapshots.
- Alert delivery in v1 is an operator-pulled queue; connect your own notifier for Slack/email.
- We never claim guaranteed recovery or zero data loss. Verification logs hold metadata only — never row data.
Billing
Subscriptions bill in advance via Stripe and renew until canceled. Cancel anytime; you keep access until the end of the billing period. Refunds follow the policy on the pricing page.
Warranties and liability
The service is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, RestoreProof is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Our total liability is limited to the fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim.
Changes
We'll email you before material changes to these terms take effect. Continued use after the effective date is acceptance.
